The ISM SNAP Survey is an approved HST Cycle-8 snapshot observing mode program designed to explore the homogeneity of the interstellar medium using the interstellar absorption lines observed between 1170 and 1370 Angstroms in stellar spectra. High resolution (R 100,000), moderate S/N ratio (30-45 per resolution element) ultraviolet echelle spectra will be obtained for objects drawn from a target list containing 303 O and B-type stars. The selected wavelength range contains numerous interstellar absorption lines, including key tracers of physical properties such as density, temperature, and depletion onto dust grains. The initial selection of targets and the resulting distribution of such stellar and interstellar properties as the distances, reddenings, and spectral types of the stars in the sample will be presented. We will also discuss our specific scientific objectives as well as examples of other studies for which this dataset will be useful.
