The supernova remnant (SNR) G359.1-0.5 is located within a few hundred parsecs of the galactic centre and interacts with an adjacent molecular cloud as evidenced by a cluster of 1720 MHz OH masers towards the SNR rim. The TeV source HESSJ1745-303 partially overlaps the molecular cloud and SNR. In order to probe in detail the dense and shock-disrupted gas for the first time, we will use Mopra to map the gas in the 7 and 12mm bands. Our focus will be on the NH3, CS(1-0) and SiO(1-0) transitions which we have successfully used on other TeV SNRs such as W28 and CTB37A to yield valuable information about the internal dynamics of the gas, and to help narrow down the source of high energy particles producing the gamma-ray emission.
