We propose to obtain snapshot images with the WFPC2 of 25 Wolf -Rayet stars suspected from ground-based imaging to be multiple. Wolf Rayet {WR} stars are believed to be He-rich stars which are the short-lived, evolved descendents of the most massive O stars, in which the products of CNO burning {WN type} or He burning {WC type} have been brought to the surface. Their powerful stellar winds produce rapidly expanding atmospheres. Because of their strong, broad emission lines, it is difficult to determine WR stars' intrinsic characteristics: luminosities and masses. Studied to the limit of ground-based telescopes, all of our proposed targets show interesting spectra, peculiar morphologies, and/or slight elongations indicative of companion/cluster associations. HST imaging of these objects would provide unique information on not only the objects themselves, but on the intervening interstellar medium, galactocentric distance constraints, massive star evolution, and evolutionary connections between WR subtypes.
