The ANTARES detector is the largest underwater neutrino telescope. It is installed in the Mediterranean Sea, at a depth of about 2500 m, close to Toulon, France. The Cherenkov photons emitted along the path of neutrino induced muons are detected by a 3-dimensional array of photomultipliers and used to reconstruct their trajectory. The construction of the detector was completed in May 2008. A short description of the experimental setup is given and some selected results are presented.
