We present an end-to-end simulator for 3D spectroscopy, which can be used to specify MOAO-fed integral field spectrographs dedicated to ELTs, or any other telescope and 3D instrument concept. This simulator rescales either local data or outputs of hydrodynamical simulations to model distant galaxies, and can be used to constrain futur telescopes, instruments, and sites for the next generation of astronomical facilities.
