Empirical evidence has shown that the physical properties of a stellar system depend on a poorly constrained mixture of environmental and internal influences. In fact, galaxies are known to loosely follow a morphology-density relation. This is investigated in the two nearest galaxy groups: the Centaurus A and the Sculptor groups. Centaurus A is relatively dense and is dominated by the CenA active galaxy while Sculptor is a loose filament of objects, elongated in the line-of-sight.
