Black Holes: Accretion Disks, Quasars: Emission Spectra

Scientific paper

The light, originally in Lorentz spectral type, emitted from a luminous Keplerian ring around a black hole should be affected by Doppler shift and gravitational redshift and deflection. A double-peaked line profile should be received by a faraway observer. The precise solution of line profile is obtained in the Schwarzschild case in this paper. The emission spectrum identification of the quasar 1604+179 in the Hercules Cluster is also discussed according to the relative intensity of the two peaks in the double-peaked profile.
