Radiative Transfer, Sun: Prominences
Scientific paper
We report on improved computations concerning two-dimensional (2D) radiative modelling of solar prominences. This report mainly concerns a more correct definition of the bound-free radiative rates (incident radiation and dilution factor). As a consequence, the difference (at a given height) between the Hα line integrated intensity computed respectively in 1D and 2D geometries is found to be less important than what was previously presented (Paletou 1995).
