The most reliable solar limb darkening function in the continuum in a standard wavelength of 500 nm is obtained on the basis of an analysis of available observational data on solar limb darkening; the expected error of this function is estimated. The temperature dependence on monochromatic optical depth corresponding to this darkening is compared with similar dependences for some models of the solar photosphere. Satisfactory agreement is obtained only for the VAL-M model.
