The value of self-aligned current is calculated as a function of the local time for low velocities of convection when the magnetopause is a tangential discontinuity. Bernoulli's equation and the equation of adiabaticity are used to describe the distribution of the magnetospheric plasma density, which depends on the magnetic field value. It is shown that, for the high-pressure magnetospheric plasma, the normal component of current creates the global system of field-aligned currents at the ionosphere level. These results are consistent with the Triad data on the value, direction, and distribution with the local time.
