We present some highlights of the Galaxy Evolution Explorer mission, particularly those relevant to the evolution of disk and bulge-dominated galaxies. We briefly describe new results on star-formation in the extended outer parts of disks, star-formation laws, disks on the star-forming sequence of galaxies and massive UV luminous galaxies forming stars at elevated rates. We also discuss efforts to probe star-formation and AGN feedback in bulge-dominated galaxies.
