To date, there has yet been no confirmed detection of signals transmitted by an extraterrestrial (ET) entity/civilization. Reconsideration of this problem from the vantage point of amateur astronomy has suggested a logical and reasonable alternative to current professional radio and optical searches. The experiment is suited to the capabilities and strengths unique to the serious amateur having his own well equipped observatory.
