Element diffusion is a basic physical element transport mechanism which is driven by gravitational settling and thermal diffusion. Considering heavy element (including helium and metal elements) diffusion, we construct a grid of low-mass models. We found that the element diffusion can speed up the evolution of the star, especially in the main sequence. Using an asteroseismic method, we study the effects of heavy element diffusion on the internal structure. The results show that it could enlarge the convective core and deepen the convective envelope. Thus, we can not neglect the effect of heavy element diffusion in low-mass stars. In addition, we also construct models with poor metallicity and found that the diffusion was restrained in the case of no surface convection zone.
