About a dozen classic narrow line Seyfert 2 galaxies have been shown to have an obscured BLR that becomes evident only when viewed in scattered light; when we see broadened Hα or Hβ in the polarized flux. (Tran, Miller, and Kay, Ap. J., 397, 1992, and references therein.) Several Seyfert 2 type ultraluminous IRAS galaxies have these hidden broad line regions as well (e.g. IRAS 20460+1925, Kay and Miller, B.A.A.S., 21, 1989, and IRAS 23060+0505, Hough et. al., Ap. J., 372, 1991). As part of a spectropolarimetric study of a sample of luminous IRAS narrow line galaxies, we observed the Seyfert 2 galaxy IRAS 22017+0319 at the William Herschel Telescope. This object has an L_{60_μ} of 2x10(11) L_&sun;, (Hutchings and Neff, A.J., 101, 1991) similar to that of the obscured Seyfert 1 galaxies Mrk 463 and NGC 7674. The nucleus is polarized about 2%, and the polarized flux clearly contains a broadened Hα with a line width of 6000 km/sec. This object can thus join the growing list of Seyfert 2 galaxies which appear to harbor an obscured type 1 nucleus. New WHT high resolution spectropolarimetry of the broadened Hα in the polarized flux of the ultraluminous Seyfert 2 galaxy IRAS 20460+1925 will also be presented.
