We present initial results from a survey for quasars underway at KPNO with the 4-m telescope. The primary goal of the survey is to study the luminosity function and space density of quasars at z>3 and of faint AGNs at z<3. We have imaged 0.75 of a square degree of sky using six filters spanning 300 to 900 nm to a limiting magnitude of V=23. Using various methods of identifying outliers in color-color space, we have selected candidates as faint as R=22 for spectroscopic followup. This followup has begun, using the HYDRA multifiber spectrograph on the KPNO 4-meter telescope. We will present studies of the effectiveness of various color-color selection techniques as well as spectra of quasars discovered to date.
