A BV photographic standard sequence in the range V = 15-20 mag has been spread around the M81 galaxy by the plates of three large field telescopes, and the magnitude scales are extended by microndensitometry and conformed to available CCD data. Selection and photographic photometry of blue and red stars down to 22 mag has been carried out in four areas around M81 using the 6 m telescope plates. The distribution on the color-magnitude diagram and around M81, as well as comparisons with the theoretical distribution of the faint Galaxy stars, indicate that some of the selected blue and red stars may be representatives of the young stellar population in the M81 galaxy periphery. An unusual group of 12 bright red stars is revealed. If they belong to M81, the brightest of them must be similar to the red supergiants in M101.
