With many relatively new concepts now percolating through the literature, such as morphological transformation, harassment, strangulation, AGN feedback, and progenitor bias, it sometimes seems as if we know less about galaxy formation now than we did a decade ago. The central, detailed, statistical, and physical question of how galaxies form remains unanswered, but I will review how we are constraining the edges of the problem in several ways; enough so that extreme models are already ruled out.
