The Hubble sequence is a correlation between morphological and physical properties of galaxies, well observed and studied at z 0: on one side of the diagram, elliptical galaxies are the most massive objects in the local universe, their dynamics is dominated by random motions, their stellar populations are old, and they do not show signs of star formation; on the other side, spiral galaxies show young stars, active star formation, ordered stellar motions. Even if it is known that the Hubble sequence is already in place at z 1, it is unclear whether it still holds at z>1. We exploited the GOODS database, that provides an uninterrupted coverage from X-ray to radio wavelengths, to select a sample of z 2 galaxies, through the BzK diagram. We find that the Hubble sequence is under assembly at that epoch: passive BzKs are mainly compact, very dense, red and dead galaxies, with no signs of 24um emission; on the other side, active BzKs are constituted by a mix of spiral and irregular galaxies, actively forming stars.
