COSMOS is amongst the best surveys for studying the high redshift universe. At z>4 the COSMOS project probes the bright end and knee of the luminosity function, something not done by deep surveys done with HST. At these bright fluxes survey area is key because the statistics are dominated by Poisson statistics rather than cosmic variance. I will present new constraints on the UV luminosity function and the mass function at z>4. In addition I will show several interesting sources at z>4 including three z>7 candidates with spectroscopy and several heavily star forming sub-mm galaxies at z>4.5.
