We review the current status of the XMM-Newton Cluster Survey (XCS), and
present the constraints on the values of the cosmological parameters
σ8, Ωm and ΩΛ
which we expect to obtain from XCS, through the analysis of the
evolution with redshift of the number density of galaxy clusters.
