We summarise the main results on the faint submillimeter (submm) galaxy population that have come from the SCUBA Cluster Lens Survey. We detail our current understanding of the characteristics of these submm-selected galaxies across wavebands from X-rays to radio. After presenting the main observational properties of this population we conclude by discussing the nature of these distant, ultraluminous infrared galaxies and their relationship to other high-redshift populations.
