By comparing the observed luminosities of the asymptotic giant branch stars in globular clusters of the Magellanic Clouds with theoretical ones the ages of 12 clusters in the SMC and 22 clusters in the LMC are obtained. The use of the theoretical calculations of stellar evolution with large mass loss on the AGB stage leads to good agreement with ages determined from the colour-luminosity diagram. The results obtained evidence that the origin of clusters is different in LMC and SMC.
