When Forbush decreases are analyzed separately in the periods 1959-1969 and 1971-1980, it is found that during the former period there typically is a slower reset than in the latter. This is in agreement with what one would expect from drift motions of charged particles in the interplanetary magnetic field during these two periods. The effect is quite small, however, and it is barely statistically significant. Therefore, beyond establishing its existence, further detailed conclusions cannot be drawn.
