The hydrogen shell has been included in two-dimensional hydrodynamic simulations of the core helium flash. The formulation of this treatment is outlined, and then it is shown that the inclusion of the shell and exterior regions does not affect the early hydrodynamic phase. A buoyant bubble of partially nuclear processed material is formed in the helium core, and the hydrodynamic interaction of this bubble with hydrogen shell is followed. It is found that the rise of the bubble substantialy distorts the hydrogen shell location and that the mixing of bubble material into the hydrogen shell can occur, but probably not under dramatic conditions. This significantly limits the nuclear species that can be produced on the hydrodynamic time scales considered here. The further evolution is clouded by the nonspherical nature of the final state and by the fact that the core degeneracy has not been completely lifted by the time that hydrodynamic phenomena have ceased.
