An analysis of published photometric and spectroscopic data shows the symbiotic binary V 1329 Cyg to be an eclipsing binary with an elliptical orbit. The sizes of Roche-lobes as well as of the second Jacobian surface pulsate with the orbital period of 950 days, and the cooler component is seen to fill up the Roche-lobe at periastron. A model of moving gaseous structures in the system is proposed, and their influence on the radial velocity curve is discussed. The cooler component is found to be an M6 giant of 7.9 solar masses, 339 solar radii, and with a bolemic luminosity of -5.42, while the hot component is seen as a white dwarf surrounded by an accretion disk. The mean distance between the components, of 842 solar radii, decreases to 605 solar radii at periastron.
