The existence of dark regions in connection with some globular clusters has been reported various times in recent years. Angeletti et al. (1981) have shown that radial color profiles in the cores of some globular clusters are consistent with the hypothesis of dust clouds located within cores. The present investigation is concerned with a model of dust clouds in globular clusters, taking into account experimentally determined optical constants of particles. The solution of the transfer equation makes it possible to determine the grain temperature profile in the core and the expected infrared emission. Grain temperature and expected infrared emission are derived for three different compositions, related to pure graphite, pure silicate, and a mixture of 90 percent silicates and 10 percent graphite.
