A B,V CCD-photometry of the Main Sequence of the globular cluster NGC 6752 is presented and the problem of the determination of cluster ages is critically analyzed. The different methods used converge for NGC 6752 to an absolute age of 16 plus or minus 2 Gyr with a metallicity of (Fe/H) = -1.5 plus or minus 0.2, a primordial helium abundance of Y = 0.23 plus or minus 0.02, and a distance modulus of 13.3 plus or minus 0.2. The resulting absolute magnitude of the Horizontal Branch at the RR Lyrae gap turns out to be MV = +0.40 plus or minus 0.20.
