Photometric observations of a superoutburst of the SU UMa star OY Carinae are presented. Starting 6 days after maximum light, the observations continued until almost the faint quiescent state was reached. The secular, orbital and short time photometric behaviour is described. OY Car shows stronger cyclic variations of its mean brightness than low inclination SU UMa stars. The data suggest a location for the superhump source within the disk primary configuration. No secondary eclipse was detected. Several observational facts indicate the existence of irradiation induced variable mass transfer rate and an eccentric precessing disk. Dwarf nova oscillations were present during the rapid transition to quiescent brightness level. The oscillations are eclipsed. The eclipses of the oscillation are delayed with respect to the primary eclipse and suggest a reprocessing effect operating near the position of the quiescent bright spot.
