Approximate method for investigating stellar stability in GR is presented. It is based on the approximate Galerkin method. Spectral Galerkin method is widely used in numerical simulations. The development of the method is based on a generalization of the well-known energetic method. In full GR treatment it results in more simple equations of the stability than in standard perturbation approach. .
