The properties of the very energetic Type Ic SNe 1997ef and 1998bw, the latter probably connected to GRB980425, are reviewed. It is shown that the SNe have explosion kinetic energies well in excess of normal SNe, hence they are called ``Hypernovae.'' Evidence for asymmetry in the ejecta of SN 1998bw is discussed, and the results of a 2D calculation of an axisymmetric explosion are presented. The nebular line profiles of SN 1998bw computed assuming an axisymmetric explosion viewed from a direction close to that of the jet are shown to reproduce the observed profiles. .
