High spectral resolution observations of the H-alpha profile in the Be star X Persei are presented. Fluctuations with a period consistent with the 13.9 min period of the associated X-ray pulsar were detected. The amplitude of the fluctuations is about 2% of the continuum. Evidence that the amplitude of the fluctuations varies across the H-alpha profile was also found.
