The OH emission in the 2π3/2J =3/2 F = 1→1 and F = 2→2 transitions associated with W49N was found to lie in an area 10" × 8". The radiation appears to surround the intense H2O masers and the compact continuum source. The majority of the spectral features which lie between 10 and 20 km s are clumped in an area of diameter less than 1". The features between -2 and +7 km s-1 may be caused by an outflow of material from the continuum position, while the features between 10 and 20 km s-1 are probably associated with mass outflow from a compact object located at their position.
