The properties of relativistic beaming in the case of jets with boundary layers are considered. A simple model for the variation of the Lorentz factor in the layers is used to show that jets should be limb-brightened. Moreover, the ratio of jet brightness to counterjet brightness should be considerably smaller than in the case of the standard model with the same value of the Lorentz factor at the jet axis.
