The plasma polarization shift of the Lyman-α line corresponding to the hydrogen-like ions C VI, N VII, and O VIII is calculated for plasmas with electron density and temperature in the ranges 1021 - 1022cm-3 and 70 - 100 eV, respectively. The line shift has been calculated using a quantum mechanical description of both bound and free electrons. The spatial distribution of electric charges and electric potential is obtained in a self-consistent way. At electron densities of 1022cm-3 the calculated shift of the C VI Lyman-α is approx. 10 mÅ, and the shift of this line for the other ions is much smaller. The present results are consistent with the outcome of an experimental search for plasma polarization shift in similar laser-produced plasmas, and with the shift calculated by a quantum-mechanical impact approximation.
