Hst Proposal Id #1474

Scientific paper

This proposal defines the procedure for verifying the dynamic range, limiting magnitude, linearity and digital-to-analog relatability and overlap of the visual IDT (VIS, IDT#3) on HSP. Five (5) photometric standards will be observed in the analog and/or digital, single and/or star-sky modes of observing which span a large range in brightness (5 < V < 14 mag.). The test serves to verify the relevant CEI specifications and permits a verification of the deadtime corrections in the digital operating mode. This test is a continuation of HSP-06a and is to follow it after two months. It is to be completed within a week time period as well. Note: This proposal requires different sample times for star and sky samples which are not supported by the current instructions. The required sky sample times are noted in comment statements. Revision History: Mark Slovak 12/24/88 Translated to V2 Instructions 1/30/89 S. Laurent Updated 2/10/89 - P.Stanley 2/24/89, 3/5/89 - S. Laurent Changed per P. Reppert's comments of 6/6/89 - SALM 8/9/89; Fixes for aberration problem - SALM 7/30/90;
