A test will be performed to verify the binary search target acquisition software of the FOS, as well as the firmware acquisition. The test will first image a faint (V ~ 20) star in the large aperture, and then allow the firmware/software to attempt to center the object. A second image will be obtained to check on the centering, and a prism spectrum will be obtained to be certain the correct object was centered. The test will be repeated to test for repeatability. This program (along with the other target acquisition tests) is the highest priority SV activity to be performed.
