The Swift observatory was designed to follow up Gamma-Ray Bursts, but has also proven to be a powerful observatory for multiwavelength observations of transient events. The BAT instrument monitors over 700 galactic and extragalactic objects on a daily basis, and sometimes triggers on flares from transients, resulting in rapid followup by the on-board X-ray and optical telescopes. The X-Ray Telescope (XRT) has undertaken campaigns of monitoring the Galactic Center, several Supergiant Fast X-ray Transients (SFXT), and other sources. I will discuss highlights from the first five years of the Swift mission in the field of X-ray transients, with particular attention to the exciting results of our studies of SFXTs.
