We report on the current status and the early results of Solid-state Slit Camera (SSC) onboard the MAXI mission. SSC consists of two detector systems, each of which has 16 X-ray CCDs. The energy range is 0.5 -12keV, and the total area for the X-ray detection is 200cm**2. In the initial checkout phase, it is found that all of 32 CCDs are operated correctly, and CCDs are successfully cooled down to -60 degree by using thermo electric cooler and the passive radiator. The energy resolution at 5.9keV is better than 150eV in FWHM, which is as expected from the ground calibration test. Although the sky coverage of SSC for each day is about 50% due to the large sun avoidance and the polar axis region, SSC has already observed almost the entire sky in the three three months. In the all-sky image, we can find many X-ray sources, some of which are not visible in the MAXI/GSC. In the spectrum extracted from the galactic SNRs (CasA, Cygnus Loop, and so on), line emissions (Ne, Mg, Si, and so on) are clearly resolved.
