Clusters constitute one major source of information for cosmology. In the present paper, I discuss briefly observed properties of clusters, with emphasis on their X-ray properties and their use for the determination of the density parameter of Universe Ω0. I also describe the usual modeling of X-ray clusters for cosmological applications. I then discuss two cosmological tests based on clusters properties. The first method uses the evolution of the abundance of clusters with redshift [J. Oukbir, A. Blanchard, A&A 262 (1992) L21], the second one make use of the baryon fraction in clusters [S.D.M. White et al., Nature 366 (1993) 429]. The former method needs reliable estimates of the local temperature distribution function as well as at high redshift. The latter can provide a direct estimate of Ω0 provided that we have a reliable estimate of the baryon content of clusters and a good estimate of Ωb from primordial nucleosynthesis. No definitive conclusions has been achieved by these methods. Although low density universes are favored by most authors, I show that present day observations can also be interpreted as providing evidence for a high density universe.
