A composite luminosity function (LF) for the turnoff region of M92 has been constructed with data from a variety of sources. This LF shows a pronounced dip at V values between 19 and 20 that cannot be reproduced by standard evolutionary calculations. Theoretical LFs computed for a reasonable range of helium abundances, metallicities, and ages show only subtle differences through the turnoff region, and, because the composite LF is uncertain, it is difficult to constrain any of the model parameters. However, a small plateau in the composite LF, tentatively identified near V = 18, is reproduced in model LFs constructed from evolutionary sequences with Fe/H equal to about -2.0 for helium abundances in the range Y between 0.20 and 0.24, with corresponding oxygen abundance ratios in the range O/Fe between 0 and 0.75. In a well-determined LF, the size of this feature could be used to constrain the age of M92.
