Observations of (C-13)O, S, and NH3 in the Mon R2 molecular cloud are
presented. The existence of a dense 3-pc 4000-solar mass region is
revealed. The high-resolution observations of the (1,1) and (2,2) lines
of NH3 show the presence of 1-65-solar mass clumps. A minimum in the NH3
emission is observed toward the compact H II region.
