The VLA was used to observe a sample of 18 candidate GHz-peaked spectrum (GPS) radio sources at four frequencies. It was found that about 25 percent of the GPS sources show extended emission near or around the core on the arcsec scale. Images of these extended radio sources are presented. Hypotheses explaining the nature of these GPS radio sources are offered.
