Possible ellipsoidal figures of equilibrium are obtained for a rotating, gravitating fluid mass with internal mass flows of constant vorticity, embedded inside a homogeneous gravitating sphere. The classical ellipsoidal figures of equilibrium are generalized and new S-ellipsoids and ellipsoids with oblique rotation are obtained. The stability of embedded S-ellipsoids is investigated and the criterion for their stability is obtained. The existence of an ellipsoid with oblique rotation of type II inside a relatively dense halo becomes impossible.
