The nature of the cosmological constant has been one of the important problems in physics. On the other hand, the topological defects produced by various cosmological phase transitions consist of false vacuum energy. They may provide an effective cosmological constant. In this contribution, the interactions of such defects with the particles are investigated and the resulting detection possibility of cosmological vacuum energy density will be discussed. .
