SOHO CDS, GIS and NIS, observations are used to evaluate the electron temperature, density and pressure of active region loops. The measurements are used to constrain empirical models of loops, which are compared with an improved version of theoretical models from Landini and Monsignori Fossi 1975. Energy balance is investigated to evaluate temperature, pressure and heating release along the loop.
