We have scheduled simultaneous HST and XTE observations of the new X-ray transient XTE J1859+226, planned for October 18th 1999 02:00-09:10 UT. Supporting ground-based observations (simultaneous, near-simultaneous, and following the evolution over days/weeks) would be extremely helpful. If you can observe simultaneously with HST and XTE, high time-resolution data (< 10 seconds) will be particularly useful.
