Observations of the white dwarf LDS 678B obtained in 1976 show that it belongs to the helium-rich white-dwarf sequence. This finding indicates that the LDS 678B spectrum may have changed from a hydrogen-line to a continuous spectrum over the past 10 years. A lower limit of about 10,000 is deduced for the atmospheric helium to hydrogen ratio by number. The possibility that the star is a magnetic white dwarf is also discussed.
