It is not known whether M1-78 is a planetary nebula or a young H II
region. In an attempt to settle this issue, it has been observed at a
frequency of 15.4 GHz with an angular resolution 0.65 x 0.83 arcsec and
the optical position of the nebula has been remeasured. It is concluded
that the evidence is equivocal and the nature of M1-78 remains in doubt.
