The elliptical shape of the Coma cluster is examined quantitatively. The
degree of ellipticity is high and depends to some extent on the radial
distance of the sample from the Coma center as well as on the brightness
of the sample. The elliptical shape does not appear to be caused by
rotation; other possible causes are briefly discussed.
