The Sedov-Taylor solution as modified by Cox (1970, 1972) is used in a study of Herbig-Haro objects. It is shown that if the condensations are interpreted as (approximately) spherical nonstationary shock waves, then typical parameters - time scales, sizes, radial velocities, and the small filling factors - of individual condensations of Herbig-Haro objects have values which are in approximate agreement with observation. The results depend only on the preshock particle density and on the initial energy input into the shock wave.
